State of the fist: May 2013

For a proposed quarterly item, I have been doing a poor job of keeping up with this series, haven't I? So... Working on a schedule to keep myself on track with these things, and hopefully I won't fall too far behind again. As of right now, my next one is hopefully going to end up in July, and then follow quarterly after that. In the meantime, let's jump into this edition, as I catch you up to date with where we are. EDITORIAL: Slamfist- 2013

So, 2013 is well underway, and the zombie apocalypse that I was promised never came to fruition, which means that Slamfist Media is still here, and we are indeed still alive. Life has a way of getting in the way of doing the things you love, but I'm here to tell you that we are still working, and we will have things to show you in the future. For a little more information, hit the jump, and delve into some of my goals for 2013.

A Brief Tangent on Meetings

There is a lot to be said about meetings. They make for a great chance for minds to meet, and for the group as a whole to collaborate on the big projects that face us. However, sometimes, when you stick a group of sleep-deprived individuals into a room, it ends up being a slow downward spiral into the mouth of madness. The road to hell, is paved with good intentions, true... but the road to madness is paved with good times. So read on, if you will... State of the Fist: April 2012

The power of Twitter is an amazing thing. I spend a lot of time there, and am regularly asking for input from my followers, and quite often that input finds its way into the blog, or at least put on the back-burner for potential inclusion into the blog. I value your input, so please keep it coming, follow us on Twitter, Email Us, or Like us on Facebook. Come and join in, and help this blog grow.

Now onto the business at hand. My goal here is to make a "State of the Fist" post every quarter, and keep everyone abreast of what is going on in the world of Slamfist Media. I may end up cutting that estimate back so that I only do it every 6 months, but I want to make this a regular thing.

A Brief Thought

Well, rather than go two days with no posts, I'm putting this up. What is this? Well. I want to just say that in an effort to keep things interesting, I'm going to try to start doing small bits of creative writing, perhaps set in our Supara setting (but not directly in the main story line). If all goes well, I hope to get a bit up each week...

So, if all goes well. I should have something creative to post on the 10th, in addition to another introduction post, perhaps on the 6th. And if all goes REALLY well, I'll also have a movie review on the 5th. So, wish me luck.

Meet the Team: Josh

Next up on the introductions, is the other co-founder of Slamfist Media. And, by the way, also the man who came up with the name Slamfist (The Media part was my contribution). I think after that, if there is nothing else going on, I should have Brandon's up next Monday. Eventually, I'm hoping to get it so that we are posting at least once per day, and as we get more writers, more content will be doable. And now, before I drone on too much, On to Josh's intro.

Meet the Team: Frank

So, I decided as part of a series of blogs, I would start to introduce the team to the readers. This will help people understand who we are a little bit better, and who knows, maybe it will help explain why some of us are so out of our minds. Together we came up with a simple set of questions that we think might be of at least passing interest. to people visiting... And since this was all my idea, I figured I'd go first, while I wait for everyone else to get their answers in.

Slamfist Social Media Plan

In the world today, there is almost no escaping it. Social Media sites are everywhere. And in this world of Facebooks and Twitters, it is ... unavoidable that we will have to conform to this model, if we wish to reach the maximum number of people out there. So, in pursuit of that end, I have spent a good deal of the day working on various social media outlets, so that we can connect with the fans on as many levels as possible.

The Evolution of Slamfist

So here I am, unable to sleep as per the usual, and I figured I would try yet again to make a post. This will be my 4th or 5th attempt at this point, previous ideas including the top 4 movies of 2011 that made me lose faith in Hollywood. I abandoned that one after I realized how many movies that were released last year that I was just unable to stomach even the thought of seeing, and having been unable to sit through those, my lost faith in Hollywood would never be complete. So yeah, dropped that idea.

Then, while laying here in the dark, staring up at the ceiling, I thought, some people might actually be interested in who we are, and where we came from. So basically, this is my version of the Slamfist story.

And so it begins...

I'd like to welcome you to Slamfist Media. We are a dedicated brain-trust of creativity searching the inter-webs for a way to get our overly abundant amount of stories told; one way or the other... within a reasonable budget of course.

Our goal with this blog is to (hopefully) update it as much as possible regarding our never-ending list of nearly impossible accomplishments. In the months to come, this blog shall be flooded with news about our upcoming comic book universe called “Supara”. It should also feature some tidbits of art, storyboards, and scripts from our various other in-progress projects. To fill in the time, we'll also post reviews for film, television, books, and anything else we deem noteworthy or influential to our work.
