So, 2013 is well underway, and the zombie apocalypse that I was promised never came to fruition, which means that Slamfist Media is still here, and we are indeed still alive. Life has a way of getting in the way of doing the things you love, but I'm here to tell you that we are still working, and we will have things to show you in the future. For a little more information, hit the jump, and delve into some of my goals for 2013.

Supara Update #11: Team & World Building
Supara Update is an occasional column/thread about anything going on regarding our first foray into the indie comic book world.
What we’ve come to realize in the past month or so is
that our vast history and elements of Supara’s universe isn’t something to take
with a grain of salt. Ever since we started meeting regularly at our new space
(big thanks to Frank), we’ve been primarily taking on one massive topic… and
that would be “world building”. The thing is; we need to establish more than a
short history lesson before continuing with our script. As well as balancing a
core source material we can all pull from while leaving enough of it open to
try not to box anyone in creatively.

Supara Update #10 : Meetings
Supara Update is an occasional column/thread about anything going on regarding our first foray into the indie comic book world.
I decided it was time to revisit the concept of the Supara update, with a subject that has been weighing heavily on my mind for the last couple of weeks: Meetings. One of the things I think is tantamount to creating a good project is to have the entire team meet on a fairly regular basis. So in this post, I hope to discuss some of the ins and outs of these meetings, how we structure them, and what I kind of hope to accomplish with these meetings. So, please read on after the jump.

Supara Update #9: Vor-Khai
Supara Update is an occasional column/thread about anything going on regarding our first foray into the indie comic book world.
Again, to the end of our set of three... this is an... otherworldly type of individual. We've already established him within a previous entry (Supara Update #3: Early Era Characters) but he's quite integral to our present day story as well. Some of this you've already read before but things could have changed for him in the past 30 years or so. Oh and another reason why you should check this entry out... the art. There isn't a lot of it but it's phenomenal nonetheless. See it all and more... after the jump.

Supara Update #8: Sylvia Pendragon 'Pendra'
Supara Update is an occasional column/thread about anything going on regarding our first foray into the indie comic book world.
Would you look at this? Frank writing up one of these Supara Updates... Weird. Well, This one is fairly appropriate, since of all the characters we have worked on, this is the only one that I can truly call my own. Her entire existence was based off of a simple question, “Is there Magic in Supara?” We decided on a very resounding, yes. And from that one question, an entire mythology has been born... Or rather borrowed and adapted. For you see, the character(s), contained in this update, connect with some very famous mythological figures... For more, follow on after the jump.

Supara Update #7: Ellie Eckhart 'Sync'
Supara Update is an occasional column/thread about anything going on regarding our first foray into the indie comic book world.
And here we all are again with our latest set of three characters. What's very different about this set is that they're all actually not part of our first issue of the comic. Well you'll see them here and there but they are all part of something much bigger and you'll find that out next as they are revealed. First up is Ellen 'Ellie' Eckhart or better known as the criminal... Sync. Find out more after the jump.

The Supara Files: Auerbach Journals 10
There is more to Supara than just the comic. In an effort to establish the universe, we are presenting a series of establishing pieces, helping to flesh out the era of The Foundation. My contribution to this effort, will be the Journals of Prof. Robert Auerbach.
These posts may contain spoilers for what will come, so be warned. Also, these posts are written from a regular person, and are HIS perceptions of the universe at large. So the "reality" of his journals may not actually jive with the "reality" of the universe itself. His story continues after the jump...

Supara Update #6: Dakota Gretchen 'Starstruck'
Supara Update is an occasional column/thread about anything going on regarding our first foray into the indie comic book world.
Finally, on to our last and most powerful character (of these three). First there was 'X', then 'Warden' and today we reveal 'Starstruck'. In all honesty, she was the most fun to write about because she is the most relatable. We already have some things lined up for her that go beyond the comic but it should come as no surprise since she is our flagship character. So enough with this talky... Supara Update #5: Dario Rickman 'Warden'
Supara Update is an occasional column/thread about anything going on regarding our first foray into the indie comic book world.
Now presenting our second major character of three. Yesterday we posted up 'X' and today shall be 'Warden'. The significant difference between our first character reveal and onward is that 'X' was the only character without 'Powers' or people with superhuman-like abilities. Which is basically what our entire premise and storyline are based off of so it gets pretty interesting. See Dario Rickman aka 'Warden' after the jump.

Supara Update #4: Nicolas Knight 'X'
Supara Update is an occasional column/thread about anything going on regarding our first foray into the indie comic book world.
After a little time off to recuperate from life's wonderful way of keeping a human being down, we're back and introducing our first of three major characters. From conceptual art all the way to the final product. Indeed these are some nifty reveals but in a world of indie, we’ll need to excel in storytelling more so than big budget surprises. See Nicolas Knight aka 'X' after the jump.

The Supara Files: Who is Robert Auerbach
So, I'm working on the Auerbach Journals, which I actually find to be a rather interesting writing exercise, however, I found myself losing Prof. Auerbach's voice (especially in my deleted Journal entries). So, in an effort to help myself out, and possibly give you insight into who he is, and some of the things that happened to him prior to the start of the Journals, I present...
